As you can tell, this blog has been a bit abandoned. I stepped back from it for a while and realized that i'd grown tired of just blogging outfits. I've moved on to: hello lark for anyone who really cares :)Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-14090268368643129202011-08-14T22:58:00.000-07:002011-08-14T23:09:11.227-07:00CucucoHello! I admit, I have been a perfectly horrible blogger lately. Let's just say I'm more than enthused about my school work lately and I was and still am dealing with some family things.

Good News x2: I now have a Graphic Design internship + I have a lovely collection to share with you :D Rachel, of Adore More and Cucuco (etsy) was sweet enough to ask me to promote her new accessories line (this was the good news I mentioned in my last, ancient post). So click on one of those links or on this graphic.

She sent me this lovely headband. Which seriously, no doubt beats out any silly three dollar F21 in and out purchase (which I know, just happens when you're rushed and feeling the need for something cute in your hair). You can tell Rachel's things are made with love :) You can see this original post here where she posted up these photos a little bit ago.

Not to mention, if you scroll through Adore More, you can see a few other guest posts. Not going to lie–I definitely have my eyes on this. The pieces are so wonderfully crafted. Pleeease take a looksie :D

I've been swamped with work since getting back from Hawaii but thought I would post up a little teaser. I got my hair cut/colored in Hawaii and also have some exciting news I'll be sharing in a bit. But for now, you get this pretty picture.Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-73926792956852462442011-07-27T12:34:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:10:34.157-07:00Paper DollsI mentioned previously that I'm working on a paper doll set for my digital illustration class. I decided to restrict myself to using only black + one spot color throughout and I really like the result. I wasn't at all meaning to make her look like me, but basically everyone I've shown these to has asked if they were a self portrait. What do you think? :) I'm actually half tempted to use these in my header and change my layout a bit.

I'll be posting up my progress with this project. It makes me quite happy, since it's graphic design + fashion. Sort of.

ink on printer paper, scanned and digitally colored.

ClICK HERE to see the set larger.Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com23tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-78893759059674602722011-07-25T10:13:00.001-07:002011-07-25T10:18:02.792-07:00Vintage Children Book IllustrationsLately, I've been rather obsessed with the illustrations from vintage children's books. Especially the ones that are two color print jobs--with slightly sketchy lines and bizarre, silly content. I stumbled across a pool of them on flickr and pulled ones that I liked/were amusing to me.

Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-44956789941605873412011-07-21T10:16:00.001-07:002011-07-21T10:27:17.210-07:00SummersongI have been so busy with schoolwork and work this summer, it's ridiculous. I always imagine summer as being this sunshiney carefree time, but I never actually let myself relax–I always sign up for classes and load on the work hours. It's great having Robert home, finally, but it's disappointing that most of the time we spend together is consumed by me being on the computer fretting over minuscule things like the tracking and leading of type.

It feels like I haven't done outfit photos in forever!

Robert and I went to our old high school the other day though. We bought some pretty awesome Greek food and then sat in the bleachers. In the band section of course! :) Because we used to be in marching band together.

These pictures make me smile though. They are so soft and dreamy. And I hardly did anything to them in Photoshop. Robert has been experimenting with some different lenses–all of which are older and fully manual. It's crazy when you see photos nowadays that aren't perfectly crisp and clean. I like these a lot.

Such big things are happening this summer. My parents are moving, I'm finally getting into the groove of graphic design, Robert is home and I'm leaving for Hawaii in five days; I'm escorting my grandpa back. He's been living here in Portland for a few years now, but now that my grandma is retired, he is moving back. So I'll have some pretty pictures to show when I get back :)Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-64432203717157622142011-07-18T11:40:00.000-07:002011-07-18T11:45:17.441-07:00Julia MorstadIt's sort of funny but for my digital illustration class, we're being required to illustrate our wardrobes for a week–which is something I've been wanting to experiment with anyway. Looking for illustration inspiration for this project, I came across the illustrations of Julia Morstad.

I love the simple clean line work + simple, deliberate color palettes.

Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-73987255576530938362011-07-10T21:47:00.000-07:002011-07-11T19:21:34.109-07:00topographers

ink on paper, then digitally colored.

This was just a silly little thing I did fairly quickly. I've been experimenting with scanning hand done illustrations then digitally coloring the fills and line work. This one was really simple and consisted of just coloring the lines.Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-44190039182830388942011-07-07T20:08:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:17:49.612-07:00I quit + 4th of July outfitOkay. I've known this for about a week now, but now I definitely have to make the confession: I'm quitting the 30 for 30. I feel like an idiot, since a blog is such a public thing. I mentioned in a post about a month ago that I wanted to slowly shift the content on here to being a little less fashion and a little more design. It feels impossible to do that with a 30 for 30 going on. Plus, it's hard for me to take pictures every single day.

So anyhow, that's why I haven't been posting outfits. And now you know. This was my Fourth of July outfit. I don't own many red things at all, so I went with an all blue palette. I love this sweater–the color, the shape, the patterns.

So anyhow, I have a lot of ideas for my blog. I just need to stick by them and not get sucked into constantly posting up outfits. I might lose followers, but that's all right; I feel like there's a lot more that I could and should be blogging about. I want my blog to reflect more of me than just my outfits.

That being said, I'll still be posting them. Heather over at 29 Skirts actually has a feature I want to be joining in on, called Thrifted Thursdays, which sound like exactly what they are–outfit posts of outfits made entirely of thrifted clothing :)

I also want to get back into my Virtu and Inspiration posts as well as start posting up illustrations and my projects. We'll see how this all goes. I feel like I'm definitely still trying to grow into my blog. Happy Friday!

sweater: UO on sale
shorts: thrifted
purse: thrifted
shoes: Steve Madden
necklace & headband: F21Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com29tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-75278870242297880972011-07-06T10:11:00.001-07:002011-07-06T10:15:29.610-07:00Guest Post at Just Take a Bow

Hello lovelies. I've gotten a little behind in posting again because of work and school and robert and guest posts to work on, so I'm dipping into photos from my recent trip down to California. These were all taken in Santa Barbara along with this post.

They were all taken by either me, or Robert.

Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-42617660669252467952011-07-01T07:35:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:17:49.614-07:009 of 30: polka dots are a solid

I loved this outfit. It embodies a lot of things that I love: polka dots, florals, subtle color combinations, my pretty wedges and the fact that I wore it out on a date. AND took the pictures at one of my favorite places (Director's Park in Portland. A more recent public park project). I've slowly started to get into pattern mixing--though this can hardly be considered bold, since I think polka dots (and stripes) are baasically solids--at least when it comes to pattern mixing.

I had class in the day, then Robert and I went to see Tree of Life, which if you didn't know, won the Cannes film festival this year. I'm in no way a movie connoisseur--I'm the opposite, actually. I'm horrible at watching movies because of my short attention span. I'd much rather read, where you decide the pace and can sort of make things happen yourself (how cheesy does that sound?).

Robert explained it to me as having been developed as more of an experiential piece, rather than something with a clear plot and clear development. That makes sense but I could feel myself getting squirmy in my seat when nothing was seemingly happening. That being said, I would suggest watching this movie for the photography alone. The imagery is stunning; it's full of suburban 50's America, sunflares, fields, the cosmos--everything that us bloggers love. ha. ha.

Anyways, I was in absolute love with this outfit. Every single thing I wore was one of my favorites and I loved how they came together. The color palette was perfect for me with just the right amount of contrast in the patterns and colors.

polka dot dress: H&M
skirt: thrifted
cardigan: ? old, from highschool
purse: vintage Coach, hand-me-down from Robert's mom
tights: J. I'm finally almost caught up with life, since I went on vacation. So the part that's fun and feels like summer is actually starting now. These were taken at the elementary school close to my parents' house. It's where Robert and I spent a lot of time our first summer together.

I haven't bitten my nails for about a month now! Which is amazing for me, since I've bitten them since I was 3 or 4 years old. I'm one of those horrible people who bite it all the way down so that there's a pathetic stump of a nail left. They are at least long enough to paint now though--so usually, after I get past that hump, I won't really bite them unless I get super stressed out. Hopefully this time, it'll be for good.

I am also so so so glad that I included these sneakers in my 30. I've had them for a while and have been wanting to wear them but then usually just wouldn't, since they seemed a bit out of my comfort zone. Now though, I'm finding I want another pair of sneakers. I have to admit, they are quite comfy. Any suggestions?

And... a ladybug that I found on my dress :) Robert snapped a photo and then I let it outside the car and it was happy.

dress: F21
cardigan: Tommy Hilfiger
shirt: thrifted
tights: ?
sneakers: UOLeahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com25tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-64555175521843579732011-06-26T09:08:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:20:46.500-07:007 of 30: craig monkey

Another backlog post. I wore this on Monday as my drive in a car for hours then visit Hearst Castle outfit. As you can see from the wrinkles, I was obviously sitting all day. I also have with me, Craig: an adorable stuffed monkey that was Robert's as a child. I myself have a stuffed seal named Pip (after Pippin from Lord of the Rings, since I was a fantasy nut in elementary and middle school--oh wait, still am. whatever). While Robert was away, we constantly switched custody of the "babies." But anyhow, Craig was in the car with us driving from Socal to Portland.

You finally get to see the pattern up close :)

And, it is silly, but the photoshoot started out being in the hotel room, since I "matched the room" according to Robert. But it was hard to get decent shots inside, so we moved out. Wish these had worked out, since I was jumping around on the bed and stuff. Hehe.

button up: thrifted
shorts: thrifted
tights: TJ Maxx on sale
shoes: Steve MaddenLeahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-34908052755726269002011-06-23T20:56:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:12:50.167-07:006 of 30: loss of momentum

You know? I was originally going to start out this blog post with another round of I'm sorries: for lack of blog posts, for lack of comments, for lack of activity in the blogging world. But no, this is something that I do for fun and life is far far far more exciting right now :P

Robert is back in Portland officially. I'm a little behind in my summer classes, since I missed the first day and I work a crazy amount this week. My little blog can deal with a little inactivity. Especially, I think, since from here on out, my photos are going to be just crazy amounts of awesome :)

.

This is actually what I wore this past Sunday for Robert's graduation. It is a lovely Modcloth dress that I purchased when they were having their awesome 50% off select items if you are a Facebook friend deal. I've been slowly trying to incorporate more vibrant colors into my wardrobe and I loved this dress, with the flutter sleeves. Plus, his graduation seemed a good excuse to buy a new dress. I felt a little overdressed, but that is okay.

This photoshoot was fun. We drove up to Ojai, which is a little town near to where Robert lived in California. It's cute and rural with lots of pretty fields. I am proud to say that this was the first time we trespassed for pictures. Meaning we just walked over some barbed wire where the fence had collapsed in.

I am slowly failing this 30 for 30. I mean, I've only been wearing things from the 30, but there are already 4-5 outfits I've worn but haven't had the chance to photograph. Sometimes, it feels less carefree and happy when you're worrying about when and where you're going to take outfit photos.

At some point, I will be able to catch up with blogging, but for now, it's definitely not one of my priorities. I'm thankful as ever that there are some of you reading this. Please be patient with me.Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com29tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-70590162588988138642011-06-20T06:52:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:22:32.911-07:005 of 30: take it all

Another on-the-run post. Robert is in the shower, his parents are coming to meet us in half an hour to finish loading up the cars and then we're heading up the coast highway back to Portland. The weekend has been a crazy flurry of restaurants, touristy sight seeing, the graduation ceremony and packing. I wore this two days ago while wandering the pier and harbor of Santa Barbara.

While Robert's dad was in college, he lived on a little boat in the harbor. So we visited his old boat and walked around. As you can see, it was cloudy and overcast. I suppose that weather thinks it funny to just follow me around wherever I go.

All of the little sail boats were so cute :)

Another lovely photo set taken by Robert. I think from now on, my outfit posts might be a little picture heavy. At least until I figure out how to be more picky? But I doubt that that will happen. In this post, I already had to eliminate a bunch of others I liked. And not going to lie, it's really awesome not really having to crop at all. And only having to barely toggle with other things. I'm so excited for life, and blogging and my summer classes :D

My blog will be back to normal posting, commenting, etc in the next few days.
I'm going home! :)

Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com35tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-27268047356513758632011-06-18T07:57:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:21:07.822-07:004 of 30: ready to start

As many of you have gathered by now, I am sort of away (hence the slow amount of posting). And I feel silly for repeating, but for anyone who has just found me/is catching up, I'm currently in Southern California for my boyfriend's (Robert's) graduation. He graduates Sunday, then we and his parents are driving up the 101 back home to Portland.

We were sitting in the car last night after an amazingly large Korean BBQ dinner and I suddenly realized that I'm no longer in a long distance relationship. It's been a crazy hard three years of skype and phone calls. It doesn't feel real that it's over yet. Maybe once we get home and on with our lives, it will. But I doubt it--it's become a way of life. I'm already ready to get back to real life. Though I guess vacation is nice too.

(I'm not particularly religious, but I like this photo anyway)

So, I already stated that I would indeed be thrifting in California though I am participating in the 30 for 30. I find far too many amazing things whenever I'm down here and this is my last chance (for a while at least), so it seemed silly not to take advantage. I'll be posting up stuff once I get home :D I am so amazingly happy with the stuff I found. It's been 99 cent blouse heaven down in here.

And, I was pointing at a silly model airplane some person was flying around. Robert is (was?) studying film--with a focus in cinematography, so it is quite lovely to have someone so picky taking my photos. In terms of the pictures, he's more of an OCD nut than I am. Plus, he has a nicer camera. So I'm looking forward to a beautiful summer (and beyond! He's not far away anymore!) of fun, pretty photo shoots :D

Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com27tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-36380432284306938972011-06-15T08:08:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:12:50.168-07:003 of 30: in our nature

HEY. Before we start, lets take a moment to applause Justine, my awesome roommate for taking photos of me that are not blurry :) We worked it out now and she has a firm grasp on the functions of my camera :)

For these first few outfits, I'm definitely wearing the obvious ones. I figure I might as well get them out of the way. Besides, I leave for California tomorrow, and then Robert will be able to take really awesome pictures in really awesome places while I wear really awesome outfits :) It also doesn't help that this is my seventh day in a row working. So I don't feel motivated to dress all cute when Im just going to change into stupid work clothes anyway.

But I did really like this outfit. Probably because I love all of the things that made it up. Including this shirt, which I found thrifting with Leanna when we met up the other day. In some photos later, I shall document how cool the pattern is. It's a normal plaid button up, but there are little hearts in the pattern too :)

I also suck and though I did wear the light jacket over it all, didn't take photos. You can see all of the items of the outfit below:

Another briefly written post. I'm all packed and ready to go! :D I work today and then am getting picked up by Robert's dad around 6:30. I'm sleeping over at his parents' house tonight and we start driving early tomorrow. So probably no real outfits for a few days. I'll definitely be making my comment rounds though :)

Bye lovelies! <3Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com30tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-28742726396085286772011-06-13T10:24:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:21:14.308-07:002 of 30: we get on

For some reason, this first outfit was a little daunting, since it feels like I have a lot of freedom and choice. I also didn't want to wear something super awesome, since I did my own pictures today. Hehe. Do you guys ever do things like that? Save super great outfits for when someone specific does your pictures?

Kept it simple today. Clothing-wise and with accessories. Just wore Robert's class ring, which he gave me a bit over two years ago. I used to wear it every day, but sort of stopped. He bought me the chain to wear it on for our first Christmas together. I've started wearing it again for old times sake, just since the long distance is almost over :)

I actually put this outfit together because of these sneakers--which I included in my 30 because I like them, but never wear them. I'm not really much of a sneakers type of girl. I hate it when my feet feel bulky or clunky, which is why I love flats to death. I thought this outfit was interesting, since I usually style this pretty dress in a really soft, girly way.

Also, don't know if anyone caught this, but this is 2/30. Why? Because number one is actually an outfit that I'm saving for a guest post, which will happen later this month :)Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com30tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-44205026545026051982011-06-12T18:58:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:12:50.170-07:0030 x 30 picksI am embarking on my first 30 for 30 and I have to admit, I'm a little bit scared. I've picked out my items though, and am super excited. The only thing that sort of sucks though, is the fact that I've had to go and include a few light jackets, since the weather in Oregon is always yoyo-ing from hot to cold. With my luck, the yoyo-ing is over and I'll have included those jackets for nothing. Hehe.

Excuse the couple of blurry photos mixed all in there. I took these in a time span of about 20 minutes this morning and didn't bother to load them into my computer before rushing off to work. My bad.

H&M pale pink polka dot dress, Modcloth Petal Power dress, F21 Orange floral dress, F21 striped jumper dress, F21 ruffly floral dress, thrifted navy polka dot button up.

thrifted yellow + blue patterned blouse, J. Not really. However, I will not refrain from thrifting/possibly shopping while in California for Robert's graduation, because I've found some of my favorite pieces down there and it would be a pity to pass that opportunity up. I also want to state that I know I won't be finishing the challenge in 30 days. I work quite a bit and there was no way I was including work clothes in this challenge. Random thought: I expect to be doing a lot of pattern mixing.

Looking forward to seeing all of your picks and remixes! :DLeahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-3227311832393406992011-06-09T22:34:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:18:49.000-07:00Rose Festival + Blogger Meet UpHello followers :D New and old, though I don't know how I accumulated a few more of you, since I've been so busy and horrible about comments. But no more. I am done with Spring 2011 classes. And actually have a huge backlog of things to post--including outfits, graphic design projects from the term, inspiration, etcetera.

I wore this outfit this past Saturday when I went to the Fair with two of my coworkers, a friend from high school and her sister. I wanted a cute breezy outfit, but definitely needed the leggings for going on rides.

MORE exciting though, is that I just had my first blogger meet up. Leanna, of The Violet Reaction rode the train up to Portland, so we hung out for an afternoon/evening. Look! She is so tall and I am so short. It is quite silly. The weather was a bit poopy, so we both stuck to wearing pants.

I am horrid at taking photos. Maybe because I'm not used to it. I'd rather enjoy hanging out with someone than try to completely document the time spent together. We ate at a lovely Crepe/Rice Pudding place, thrifted and then shopped around NW 23rd, which is a boutique/cafe lined street in Portland.

Leanna is one of my favorite bloggers and it was amazing being able to meet up with her :D Her outfits/inspiration are lovely, plus, she has an amazing little etsy shop where she sells her handmade jewelry things. I've really been meaning to try to wear more accessories. Because I feel like that's where I always cut corners. But seriously, she's really sweet and I had a great time taking her around Portland. Check out her Blog and Etsy Shop.

TOMORROW WILL BE THE DAY I CATCH UP ON BLOGS/COMMENTS. Each and every one is very very staged. I had to deal with her directing the photo shoot: "smile with teeth" "your feet look funny" "do you want that chair in the picture?" etc. So these might look slightly awkward. These were taken at my grandpa's care facility.

I also need to apologize for being far too busy to deal with comments and haven't really been commenting back. By Wednesday, I will be free and get around to doing that. I appreciate all of you who read and leave me love. I'm not just ignoring you all, I promise. It's just that last push at the end of the term. Plus, nice weather. Plus, no internet in my apartment right now. Lame, right?

Life has been lovely lately. It finally feels like summer here in Portland and I am so dang close to being done with Spring Term. All that I have left is my 12-handwritten pages Architecture History final (my hand is cramping a lot) and my State Fair Poster. My new 15" Macbook Pro should be arriving shortly and also a Modcloth dress that I ordered during that 50% off sale for just $25.00. It was my treat for myself since I got paid the day I ordered it.

I'm also freaking out a little because I've decided to jump into my first 30 for 30 challenge, which starts on the 13th. I have to choose my clothes and also account for the fact that I will be also participating in EBEW (lace, this month) and be going down to California for Robert's graduation. Seems a little tough, but I've got faith in myself! Have you guys participated before?

Any suggestions on how you do/would go about choosing your clothes?

skirt: F21, gift from grandma
shirt: AE from high school ish
cardigan: AE from high school time ish
belt: thrifted
tights: ?
oxfords: F21Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com24tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-90972170973707885942011-06-03T10:26:00.000-07:002011-07-28T09:21:20.964-07:00Anniversary + I won something!Yesterday was my three year anniversary with Robert. Which is crazy, because that means we've also been out of high school for three years. He is my very very best friend, though we are long distance. Through high school, he was the classic "nice guy" who listened to my problems whilst I dated a not so nice guy. Luckily, I fell for him and we are happy now. I am so thankful.

He had sunflowers delivered to my work. And made my sort of bad day lovely. Whenever I go to Southern California to visit him, I always remark about how the roadside flower stands are sweet. They sell a lot of sunflowers on the side of the road.

But yeah. I'm driving down to California with his parents in two weeks for his graduation. He's done with school and coming back to Portland. It's been a crazy three years. With it's definite up and downs. And I'm freaked out about how stupid and sappy this post already sounds, but I wouldn't change anything for the world. Especially now that the long distance is so close to over. I'm cutting off this sappy bragging right now :)

A picture from over two years ago:

And a recent one, from the Seattle trip:

I've also won my first blog giveaway thing ever! :D From Kira, of Rain or Shine. I got to choose two headbands from a set and received them yesterday in the mail. The little package definitely made my already happy day happier.

She has a cute little etsy shop and blog. PLUS, she lives in Portland too :) check it :D

AND, random thing: I'm totally meeting up with Leanna, of The Violet Reaction on Tuesday! I'm so excited :D She's catching the train up here to Portland and we have plans to thrift and eat and wander :)

This is another somewhat brief and type light post. Happy Friday!Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com28tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-41394791476635666242011-06-01T09:59:00.000-07:002011-06-01T11:20:48.369-07:00Easiest Outfit Ever

This past week has been pretty crazy for me. It's the last week of my term, my grandma is visiting and I'm also trying to get ready to go to California for Robert's graduation in two weeks. So this post isn't going to be very type heavy. This is the fastest written post in the history of my blog. HA.

I love the heavier fabric of this dress and wore it very simply. Then decided I needed some sort of bright color--so I grabbed one of my thrifted scarves.

This by the way, is a wall of one of the apartment buildings on campus. The window I'm creeping up on is actually someone's window. Glad no one saw me. It might have been awkward.

I love urban decay. And photography of it. I'm sure some of the textures I got photos of after the shoot will come in handy with design work at some point. I love having my own stash of textures and things to work off of.Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com39tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6777377802172146387.post-22376348879767090352011-05-27T09:34:00.000-07:002011-05-30T14:06:41.143-07:00We Never Change

I've had a couple of people ask me what camera/programs I use to take and edit my photos. I own a Nikon D3100. Whenever Robert takes my photos, he's using a Nikon D300 (I think? I shall confirm with him later). Usually, I'm having not-photographers take my photos though, so I just give them the camera and set it to auto. Most of the coloring/tone/cropping is me in Adobe Photoshop CS4. I usually toggle with the curves, exposure and selective color settings. Sometimes more or less, depending on how the original pictures were.

Secret: the more photo manipulation you see in my pictures, the worst the originals were. There are some sets I'm perfectly happy with posting pretty much untouched. For example, the sun was really harsh and stupid in this set, so I did quite a bit in photoshop to soften them up.

I love these tights, by the way.

I wore this outfit on Tuesday, which was a brilliant sunny day. I worked on Robert's business cards, met up with some old friends from high school, ate food cart food + bubble tea, worked in the computer lab for some time and then drowned in the hot tub for a bit. It was quite nice. The pictures are from Tanner Springs Park in Portland, which I have written about before and posed in before :D

shirt: AE (high school)
skirt: H&M
tights: Urban Outfitters
shoes: H&M
headband: F21

And, I totally realize I bypassed the 100-followers mark without even mention of such things like a giveaway. I have thought about it, by the way. I'm planning on doing something for either 150 or 200, but don't even know where to begin. I have some smaller thrifted items I might want to include. Does anyone have any suggestions?Leahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06270623293652165234noreply@blogger.com31
