8 of 30: children again

Hello! I'm finally almost caught up with life, since I went on vacation. So the part that's fun and feels like summer is actually starting now. These were taken at the elementary school close to my parents' house. It's where Robert and I spent a lot of time our first summer together.

I haven't bitten my nails for about a month now! Which is amazing for me, since I've bitten them since I was 3 or 4 years old. I'm one of those horrible people who bite it all the way down so that there's a pathetic stump of a nail left. They are at least long enough to paint now though--so usually, after I get past that hump, I won't really bite them unless I get super stressed out. Hopefully this time, it'll be for good.

I am also so so so glad that I included these sneakers in my 30. I've had them for a while and have been wanting to wear them but then usually just wouldn't, since they seemed a bit out of my comfort zone. Now though, I'm finding I want another pair of sneakers. I have to admit, they are quite comfy. Any suggestions?

And... a ladybug that I found on my dress :) Robert snapped a photo and then I let it outside the car and it was happy.

7 of 30: craig monkey

Another backlog post. I wore this on Monday as my drive in a car for hours then visit Hearst Castle outfit. As you can see from the wrinkles, I was obviously sitting all day. I also have with me, Craig: an adorable stuffed monkey that was Robert's as a child. I myself have a stuffed seal named Pip (after Pippin from Lord of the Rings, since I was a fantasy nut in elementary and middle school--oh wait, still am. whatever). While Robert was away, we constantly switched custody of the "babies." But anyhow, Craig was in the car with us driving from Socal to Portland.

You finally get to see the pattern up close :)

And, it is silly, but the photoshoot started out being in the hotel room, since I "matched the room" according to Robert. But it was hard to get decent shots inside, so we moved out. Wish these had worked out, since I was jumping around on the bed and stuff. Hehe.

6 of 30: loss of momentum

You know? I was originally going to start out this blog post with another round of I'm sorries: for lack of blog posts, for lack of comments, for lack of activity in the blogging world. But no, this is something that I do for fun and life is far far far more exciting right now :P

Robert is back in Portland officially. I'm a little behind in my summer classes, since I missed the first day and I work a crazy amount this week. My little blog can deal with a little inactivity. Especially, I think, since from here on out, my photos are going to be just crazy amounts of awesome :)

.

This is actually what I wore this past Sunday for Robert's graduation. It is a lovely Modcloth dress that I purchased when they were having their awesome 50% off select items if you are a Facebook friend deal. I've been slowly trying to incorporate more vibrant colors into my wardrobe and I loved this dress, with the flutter sleeves. Plus, his graduation seemed a good excuse to buy a new dress. I felt a little overdressed, but that is okay.

This photoshoot was fun. We drove up to Ojai, which is a little town near to where Robert lived in California. It's cute and rural with lots of pretty fields. I am proud to say that this was the first time we trespassed for pictures. Meaning we just walked over some barbed wire where the fence had collapsed in.

I am slowly failing this 30 for 30. I mean, I've only been wearing things from the 30, but there are already 4-5 outfits I've worn but haven't had the chance to photograph. Sometimes, it feels less carefree and happy when you're worrying about when and where you're going to take outfit photos.

At some point, I will be able to catch up with blogging, but for now, it's definitely not one of my priorities. I'm thankful as ever that there are some of you reading this. Please be patient with me.

5 of 30: take it all

Another on-the-run post. Robert is in the shower, his parents are coming to meet us in half an hour to finish loading up the cars and then we're heading up the coast highway back to Portland. The weekend has been a crazy flurry of restaurants, touristy sight seeing, the graduation ceremony and packing. I wore this two days ago while wandering the pier and harbor of Santa Barbara.

While Robert's dad was in college, he lived on a little boat in the harbor. So we visited his old boat and walked around. As you can see, it was cloudy and overcast. I suppose that weather thinks it funny to just follow me around wherever I go.

All of the little sail boats were so cute :)

Another lovely photo set taken by Robert. I think from now on, my outfit posts might be a little picture heavy. At least until I figure out how to be more picky? But I doubt that that will happen. In this post, I already had to eliminate a bunch of others I liked. And not going to lie, it's really awesome not really having to crop at all. And only having to barely toggle with other things. I'm so excited for life, and blogging and my summer classes :D

My blog will be back to normal posting, commenting, etc in the next few days.
I'm going home! :)

4 of 30: ready to start

As many of you have gathered by now, I am sort of away (hence the slow amount of posting). And I feel silly for repeating, but for anyone who has just found me/is catching up, I'm currently in Southern California for my boyfriend's (Robert's) graduation. He graduates Sunday, then we and his parents are driving up the 101 back home to Portland.

We were sitting in the car last night after an amazingly large Korean BBQ dinner and I suddenly realized that I'm no longer in a long distance relationship. It's been a crazy hard three years of skype and phone calls. It doesn't feel real that it's over yet. Maybe once we get home and on with our lives, it will. But I doubt it--it's become a way of life. I'm already ready to get back to real life. Though I guess vacation is nice too.

(I'm not particularly religious, but I like this photo anyway)

So, I already stated that I would indeed be thrifting in California though I am participating in the 30 for 30. I find far too many amazing things whenever I'm down here and this is my last chance (for a while at least), so it seemed silly not to take advantage. I'll be posting up stuff once I get home :D I am so amazingly happy with the stuff I found. It's been 99 cent blouse heaven down in here.

And, I was pointing at a silly model airplane some person was flying around. Robert is (was?) studying film--with a focus in cinematography, so it is quite lovely to have someone so picky taking my photos. In terms of the pictures, he's more of an OCD nut than I am. Plus, he has a nicer camera. So I'm looking forward to a beautiful summer (and beyond! He's not far away anymore!) of fun, pretty photo shoots :D

3 of 30: in our nature

HEY. Before we start, lets take a moment to applause Justine, my awesome roommate for taking photos of me that are not blurry :) We worked it out now and she has a firm grasp on the functions of my camera :)

For these first few outfits, I'm definitely wearing the obvious ones. I figure I might as well get them out of the way. Besides, I leave for California tomorrow, and then Robert will be able to take really awesome pictures in really awesome places while I wear really awesome outfits :) It also doesn't help that this is my seventh day in a row working. So I don't feel motivated to dress all cute when Im just going to change into stupid work clothes anyway.

But I did really like this outfit. Probably because I love all of the things that made it up. Including this shirt, which I found thrifting with Leanna when we met up the other day. In some photos later, I shall document how cool the pattern is. It's a normal plaid button up, but there are little hearts in the pattern too :)

I also suck and though I did wear the light jacket over it all, didn't take photos. You can see all of the items of the outfit below:

Another briefly written post. I'm all packed and ready to go! :D I work today and then am getting picked up by Robert's dad around 6:30. I'm sleeping over at his parents' house tonight and we start driving early tomorrow. So probably no real outfits for a few days. I'll definitely be making my comment rounds though :)

Bye lovelies! <3
