8 of 30: children again

Hello! I'm finally almost caught up with life, since I went on vacation. So the part that's fun and feels like summer is actually starting now. These were taken at the elementary school close to my parents' house. It's where Robert and I spent a lot of time our first summer together.

I haven't bitten my nails for about a month now! Which is amazing for me, since I've bitten them since I was 3 or 4 years old. I'm one of those horrible people who bite it all the way down so that there's a pathetic stump of a nail left. They are at least long enough to paint now though--so usually, after I get past that hump, I won't really bite them unless I get super stressed out. Hopefully this time, it'll be for good.

I am also so so so glad that I included these sneakers in my 30. I've had them for a while and have been wanting to wear them but then usually just wouldn't, since they seemed a bit out of my comfort zone. Now though, I'm finding I want another pair of sneakers. I have to admit, they are quite comfy. Any suggestions?

And... a ladybug that I found on my dress :) Robert snapped a photo and then I let it outside the car and it was happy.

  1. I like this shirtdress!I think it's so versatile! Regarding nails, I am the same- painting them is a way to stop me usually for 2-3 days because they are so pretty I cannot destroy them-of course on day 3 I start biting again :D

  3. I would title this post has: pretty again! You can never go wrong with polkadots and stripes together ;)

I used to bite my nails too. I started stupidly, at elementary school because I saw other kids biting theirs -.- now I only do it when I am super nervous, which hasn't happen for a while, so all good here. I am just so sorry because my nails would be so much prettier if I never bit them, because the females in my family have long beautiful nails and I ruined mine.

Oh and regarding sneakers, I'm considering getting some too, probably a pair of converse, vans, keds or superga ,)

  9. Cute layering with the dress! I'm glad you decided to wear the shoes - they look so cool! And congrats on growing your nails out. I bit mine for many years and it took getting braces at 17 to stop me. The pain of biting down with recently tightened braces was a good deterrent. It seems like once the nails are grown out and strong it's less tempting to bite them too.

  11. Why are you so cute? I love your fun, quirky outfits!

I used to bite my nails constantly but I eventually had to stop because I play piano and it really hurts. It just suddenly happened one day...nowadays I chew on my nails when I'm bored or stressed...

  12. Lea, congrats on the achievement! I used to be a hangnail biter. Oh gosh, how embarrassing. And I am so glad that I stopped. My fingers are thanking me right now. Like the previous commenter, I used to play piano too, so when my teacher saw that I was biting my hangnails AND the skin around my nails, she would give me loooooong lectures about how gross they looked, etc. That worked. :)

  21. Hooray for not biting your nails right now! I'm an on/off nail biter. Good thing mine grow really really fast. I usually won't start back again unless I have something stressful to do.

I really love this outfit, though! The layering of the polka dot top under that dress is adorable. Very cute shoes too!
