Backlog of Thrifting

First, Hello new followers :D

and old :D

I am now posting my backlog of thrifted things I've found in the past few weeks (since my last thrifting post)--though some things are omitted, since I've already worn them/have photos ready to go :)

1. Midi length floral skirt

The colors are pastel-y and springlike, plus I can hike it up to my armpits and belt it like a dress. I'm so obsessed with midi-skirts right now. So comfy. I can't wait until I can start wearing them with sandals. ($5.00 at thrift store)

2. Red Rain Jacket

So, it is definitely getting away from coat/jacket weather, but this one was just so cute. Previously, all of my coats were neutral colors and I thought this would be perfect for brightening up a rainy, disgusting day. Sarah originally found it, but the arms were too tight. So I snatched it up :) ($12.99 at Goodwill)

3. Kimchi Blue Dress

It was adorable and fit me perfectly. I picked it off the rack because I liked it and then realized it was from Urban Outfitters. score. I couldn't really pass it up after trying it on, because it fit me perfect, is in perfect shape and I love the rich deep blues--I am re-obsessed with blue right now, which as a little girl, used to be my favorite color. ($6.99 at Goodwill)

4. Gorgeous collared off-white button up

You can't really have enough plain white button up shirts. I love ones with character. I love that I can wear this to work and still somehow communicate my love for vintage and pretty things. It sure beats a crinkly stark-white button up from Target or something similar. ($4.99 from Goodwill)

5. Peter Pan Collared Plaid Button up

I probably won't be able to wear it for a while, since it's long sleeved, but I love the colors/collar/cut. I can see myself wearing it under jumper-like dresses in the fall. ($5.99 at Goodwill)

6. Crocheted Poncho thing

I honestly never thought I would ever wear a poncho. I even made fun of my mom for liking/buying them. But now I'm sucked in. It's a little scary for me, but I love the crocheted flowers. I think this is a perfect little extra layer of warmth for spring. ($6.00 at thrift store)

7. Detachable Collar

I've been looking for one of these ever since Beatrice posted about them. They're such a perfect way to update an otherwise boring dress. I find this one rather pretty. I'm not sure which way is front--I plan on mixing it up. I've since washed and ironed it. Probably should have retaken photos, but oh well. Best thing? the price. ($2.00 at thrift store)

Aaaah. I am so behind blogging-wise. I've mentioned before that I'm still trying to find the balance between life, school and blogging. I know I have an addictive personality, so my biggest fear is letting this take over my life and building it up to be more of an obligation than something I want to do. How often do you post/how do you keep everything balanced?

Anyhow, the internet was being finicky and I wasn't able to post anyway. I probably could have found some wifi somewhere, but I was much happier to curl up in a blanket and watch movies with my roommate every single night this weekend.

Happy Monday.

  1. I was just pondering going thrifting today because I just got paid. These are al such awesome finds. ESPECIALLY that lace, detachable collar. Ahh!! It's so pretty. I would seriously attach that to everything I own! Love everything here.

I'm seriously addicted to the internet haha. I'm on so many sites now, blogger, twitter, facebook, chictopia, and now I just made a tumblr. I'm having a freak out because I have so many things to keep up with! I try to always maintain my blog as number one because I love it so much. I stopped chitopia because that got boring and stupid. I feel like if you have a genuine interest in it, then it shouldn't be too much of a chore. And even if you need to take time off, it's not like everyone in the bogging community will hate you and shun you from our lives. =p

    Good luck with balancing everything!

  2. It was so good to take a break from the internet for a while for a few days. I found myself a few nights ago staying up WAYYY to late on the web till 3am. Not to mention I've become so lazy I haven't been keeping up on my workout :( I actually scored my new shoes on sale! The store also had some great Chinese Laundry shoes on sale, but I can't walk in heels! btw love all your new thrift finds, you find the cutest items :)

  3. Wow, these are all great finds! I especially love the red rain jacket. I've been wanting a detachable collar (or a few) too. Right now I blog pretty frequently because I don't have a full-time job, but once I get one I'm thinking blogging three times a week would be reasonable.

  4. awhmygawd! I love the raincoat, and the lace colar white blouse and the PP colar button-up and I sooooooooooo want to go thrifting with you, haha ^^ x

  5. Hello Lea,
so great clothes! I love your skirt!
I have a translator on my blog , on my right sidebar, so you can translate my blog in english!!!!

  6. These are some really great thrift store finds!

I have an addictive personality too, and was kinda scared I might get a little bit TO into blogging. Here are some tips that I try to adhere to myself.

1.) Set a very small goal for writing posts (say one for the weekend and one for the work-week). If I feel like writing more I will but it's the feeling of OBLIGATION that I am avoiding.
2.) I avoid using to many 'social media' sites. These are always the time suckers for me. I don't Twitter and I've cut FB out of my daily routine (I still check it a couple times a week though). I avoid using the Bloglovin' site to often. I did open a Pinterest account but I haven't really used it much yet because every time I open the website I have an urge to look at EVERYTHING! Then I feel overwhelmed and just close my browser.

But I'm sure it's partially becuase I avoid many social media sites that you have a WAY more popular blog than I do even though I started blogging just shortly after you did (also that you are super cute and talented doesn't hurt).
Good luck with everything, I really do enjoy reading your site. Just do whatever feels right for you.

  7. Uhm, these are some ridiculously awesome finds. That UO dress is perfect, and those tops are all adorable. Can I please go thrifting with you sometime?

  8. i am in love with that colloar - I've been on the hunt for one for AGES but no luck yet....

  9. ooooooo everything looks so lovely! I love NUMBER 6 the most though! How cool is that!

  10. Oh my goodness. You seriously find the nicest things at thrift stores! Definitely have to go thrifting myself real soon. No one's going to be able to stop me from doing so once I get my driver's license... I LOVE the shirt with the embellished collar. It's SO incredibly pretty and I've been wanting to have one in my closet for AGES. :)

I think that's one thing that every blogger needs to realize, really: that blogging should be done first and foremost as something that we enjoy. I personally believe that the best bloggers are those who're evidently passionate about it just because. :)

  11. Everything looks so pretty! ..but I love that poncho the most!

  12. These are amazing acquisitions. I really like the print on the midi skirt. And how darling is the red jacket and that amazing crochet collar! You lucky girl!

  13. I currently have an unhealthy obsession with midi skirts right now. Problem is, I don't have any!! I do have a lovely midi dress but it's kind of hard to style it because it stands out as its own.

    Anyway, I love the plaid/gingham shirt. <333

  14. That detachable collar is really interesting. I am not a thrifting maven. I wish I were. There are so many things that I see people find at thrift stores! And I love that red jacket. It's most definitely a brightener of dreary days!

Ps. I haven't noticed that you haven't blogged in a while... perhaps it's because I'm slacking too? hahaha.

  15. You're so good at thrifting! I can't wait to see you style some of these items!

I know what you mean, I think I'm now settling into posting 3-4 times a week. Sometimes it's less, rarely more...depending on what I can realistically (and happily!) do. :D
