Take Me Out

Thank you so much to everyone who gave advice/shared their own method for blogging. The frequency of my posting has been the thing I've struggled with the most lately.

School-wise, it is definitely crunch time. The fact that I have the rest of the term scheduled out in my planner is a little crazy. I actually wore this last week. I've gotten more into a pattern of posting things up a few days after wearing them. It's a lot easier--especially when I have a string of busy busy (or just plain lazy) days all mushed together. So, I wore this last Wednesday, if I remember correctly.

I love these shoes. I found them thrifting--for five dollars. They are a little gaudy, a little shiny and a little obnoxious, but I liked them anyway. They probably belonged in my last post, but it seemed silly, since I just wore them anyway and knew I would be posting these photos.

I did enjoy wearing this. I was texting with Robert throughout the day about how if we were in the same state) he would have needed to take me to a cute diner with red booths and a checkered floor. And that I wanted to drink a milkshake in a cone shaped glass with a red straw and whipped cream on top. I love that I've found a boy who amuses my fantasies.

If the color of my skirt looks familiar it is actually that beautiful Out to Sea Foam Dress from Modcloth :D I dressed it up before--whenever I wear it now, I'll probably be dressing it down.

  1. Lea, I love those shoes! You're right, they're kinda gaudy, shiny, and obnoxious, but I think that's why I like them as well! :) And the little bow necklace is such a great touch!

I hope you don't get too stressed with school work and with blogging at a certain pace/schedule. I have been working to blog more often, but I find that I don't get to do all the other things I like doing. So now, I do it when I feel the urge to (every 2-3 days?) and I find that to be more manageable. If I don't make it, no biggie. :)

  2. The shoes looks great with that outfit! I think a pair of obnoxious shoes never hurt anybody, haha. They're so cute - and for $5, that's a steal!
Love the colours of your outfit, they're so summery and lovely. Great post.

  6. Mint green is my new favorite color for spring! =) I love how you paired a sweater over this lovely dress- made two completely different looks.

And balance is definitely key! an I think you're doing such a great job balancing everything. Caroline and I just haven't got the time anymore because our schedules compete..but once it slows down we'll be right back up.

  7. I love how you transform your dresses into skirts with jumpers :) those shoes are so cute and unique too :) I don't think a bit of golden sparkle added to any outfit can ever hurt ;)

Also, I hope you don't feel pressured about posting regularly for your readers. I personally just really enjoy your outfits and photos, and I'll continue being a fan of them, even if your posts get published irregularly :)

  8. Love your combo, I keep seeing people doing this sort of 'whiting out' trend. I was skeptical at first but you really look lovely.
(Also don't tell but I take pictures whenever I can but then save them up, and then write 4 or 5 posts all in one night.)

  11. Wow, that's a surprise that's it's that same dress! A great way to restyle it! :)

You might have noticed that I'm not the most frequent blogger ever... Life gets in the way of online things, though I enjoy being part of this lovely community so much!
I might try the "taking pictures but posting them later" technique too... :)

  21. I think the shoes are AMAZING...and versatile, even if they are quite shiny! I love the nice neutral color and details. Also, the Out to Sea Foam dress is in my shopping bag at Modcloth right now (well, unless someone else nabbed the last one today, which is quite possible). I've been considering buying it to wear to my friend's wedding on June 19th. It looks so pretty, and I see it works nicely as a "skirt" as well!

  28. I know exactly what you mean, I think I'm just going to stick with outfit post I used to have two other features but I don't really want to continue them. When school comes around after summer I wont have enough time to do alot of posts :( I'm going to go the simple route and then redesign my blog with some html! good to hear from your again Lea :)

  38. So have you ever been to Blueplate? It's on Washington somewhere... but it's a real life soda fountain. I had a coffee float made with Stumptown. It's fantastic, and this outfit belongs there. Super cute :)
